The State Higher Education Executive Officers Association (SHEEO) is pleased to host the first Regional Community of Practice convening on March 12-13, 2020, in Atlanta, Georgia. This meeting builds on the December 2019 convening that included 19 states from across the country. The Regional Community of Practice will allow states who participated in the national convening to address issues identified in their action plans and share lessons learned with additional SREB states. New and returning Community of Practice states will explore common challenges and address regional workforce considerations.
The Aligning Postsecondary Education and the Workforce Regional Community of Practice will explore topics such as:
- Increasing state capacity to utilize linked postsecondary and workforce data.
- Making information on employment outcomes available and useful to consumers.
- Aligning program approval with workforce demand.
- Defining and measuring credentials of value.
SHEEO’s regional convening is part of the multifaceted Communities of Practice project and is designed to promote the effective use of state postsecondary data systems and provide a forum for states to work on solutions to common issues with those systems. Thanks to generous support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, teams from 37 states participated in Communities of Practice during the first two and a half years of the project.
