The U.S. economy is undergoing rapid change, as evolving technologies, industries, and markets increase the demand for skilled technical workers. In response, increasing numbers of learners are entering postsecondary education through noncredit training to improve their position in the labor market, better support their families, and in many cases create a foundation for future degree completion. While interest and activity in noncredit training are growing, noncredit activity often remains siloed from traditional postsecondary educational pathways and data systems. SHEEO’s work in this area is focused on reducing those siloes and improving noncredit mobility pathways, student outcomes, and state economic goals via improved and aligned data, systems, programs, and policies.
